Wellness Exams

A routine wellness examination is essential to the health and wellness of your pet. We highly recommend scheduling a yearly wellness. During a routine exam, your veterinarian will address any health concerns that you have with your pet. This can help discern if everything is going as planned in your pet’s life stages or if any diagnostics are needed at the time of the appointment.

For canines: Part of your pet’s routine examination will include yearly Lyme's disease testing (when applicable), bloodwork and a fecal examination. These tests are essential throughout the course of your pet’s life. They help us ensure that nothing is abnormal with your pet’s heart, liver, gastrointestinal tract or other any other organs. These lab tests can assist with early detection and prevention.

Vaccinations are given on a yearly basis or every 3 years depending on the age of your pet. Some of the core vaccinations that are important for maintaining your pet’s health include: Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza) and Lepto.

Non-core vaccines include: Lyme, Canine Influenza and Bordetella. We will customize these vaccinations relevant to your pet’s needs.

For felines: Yearly examinations are very important for felines as well. Fecal examinations and routine bloodwork are conducted for cats as well. Sometimes cats don’t show signs of health issues outwardly. These routine tests help detect problems inside. Core and non-core vaccinations for cats will be performed during the wellness exam as well.

Core vaccinations include: Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia)

Non-Core vaccinations include: FELV (Feline Luekemia)
