Pet Diagnostic Laboratory Services

The more information we have about your pet’s health, the quicker we can identify and address their health issues.  Rapid detection of abnormalities on lab results can significantly increase your sick pet’s return to good health.  It can also detect early onset of manageable disease conditions and confirm normal organ function prior to anesthesia as well as determine overall health and well being as part of lifetime wellness.

In-House Laboratory

Our in-house diagnostic equipment allows us to run a wide array of tests efficiently, providing us with timely information during the office visit.  Some of the tests we will typically run in-house include CBC, Chemistry panels, Electrolytes, Cytology, Pre-Surgical Bloodwork Panel (s), urinalysis, heartworm and tick diseases including Lyme Disease.

Outside Reference Laboratories

We utilize several reference laboratories to assist with diagnostic testing for your pet.  Examples are as follows:  Allergy Screening, Culture & Antibiotic Sensitivity, Cytology & Histopathology, Stone Analysis, Therapeutic Drug Levels and testing for specific infectious diseases.

Pet Ultrasound

A very helpful tool for assessing internal organs in animals is ultrasonography.  It can spot changes in the heart and abdominal organs as well as help identify tumors, stones, blockages, and cysts.  They show the size, dimensions, and location of the organ.  However, x-rays are frequently used along with ultrasound to make a full assessment of your pet’s condition.

Digital Radiography

X-Rays are one of the most useful diagnostic tools in medicine.  They are invaluable for examinging and diagnosing a variety of problems. We have invested in state-of-the art digital x-ray equipment, which provides superior images.  Digital x-rays are advantageous because they are immediately viewable on a computer monitor or on a mobile device.  Additionally, the image can be manipulated to get a better view of bones or organs.  The results can be shared via email with your or with specialists if the need arises.
